Get a first listen to the brand-new score, making its world premiere at Second Stage this winter.
Superhero, a world-premiere musical featuring a score by Tom Kitt, a book by John Logan, and direction by Jason Moore, is set to begin performances off-Broadway at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater on January 31.
The cast of Superhero — which tells the story of "a fractured family, a mysterious stranger, and the unexpected hero who might save the day" — features Tony nominee Kate Baldwin, Tony nominee Bryce Pinkham, and newcomer Kyle McArthur, as well as Julia Abueva, Jake Levy, Salena Qureshi, Thom Sesma, and Nathaniel Stampley.
Before the company takes the stage, the production is offering a musical sneak peek, featuring McArthur singing the brand-new Tom Kitt number, "I'll Save the Girl." Through the song, McArthur introduces us to his character, Simon, a shy high-schooler who fantasizes about being a real-life superhero, able to save the day at a moment's notice.
