Pocket Universe presents the production at Access Theater.
Casting has been announced for Pocket Universe's new, all-female production of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. The show is set to run June 21-July 8, with an opening night on June 23 at Access Theater Gallery Space.
Julius Caesar will star Alyssa May Gold (Arcadia) as Brutus, Déa Julien (West Side Story first national tour) as Julius Caesar, Violeta Picayo (Bedlam's Sense & Sensibility) as Mark Antony, Madeline Wolf (Fun Home) as Cassius, Miranda Cornell as Casca, and Amie Tedesco as Lucius. All other roles will be played by members of the company.
Conceived by Alyssa May Gold and directed by Katie Young, the production will be set at an all-girls high school. Six young women will play all roles in this coming-of-age story that follows a group of teenagers through their first tastes of power, the desire to seize it, and the life and death battle to keep it.
