In the play, Billy was born deaf, into a hearing family, and raised inside the fiercely idiosyncratic and unrepentantly politically incorrect cocoon of his parent's house. He has adapted to his family's unconventional ways, but it's not until he meets Sylvia, a young woman on the brink of deafness, that he finally understands what it means to be understood. The play premiered at the Royal Court Theater in London and received Olivier and Evening Standard Award nominations for best play.
Cromer's credits include The House of Blue Leaves and Brighton Beach Memoirs on Broadway, and When the Rain Stops Falling, The Adding Machine, and Our Town Off-Broadway.
Tickets will go on sale on December 15. For more information, click here.
