ABKCO Records has announced that it will release the original cast album of Cruel Intentions: The '90s Musical on CD and digital platforms on March 8. Its release will correspond with the 20th anniversary of the Roger Kumble film on which it is based. One of its numbers, a cover of Deep Blue Something's "Breakfast at Tiffany's," is now available on streaming services.

Created by Jordan Ross, Lindsey Rosin, and Kumble, Cruel Intentions: The '90s Musical is a stage adaptation of Kumble's 1999 film and a modern-day retelling of the classic 1782 French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. It is set to some of the greatest pop and rock hits of the 1990s and songs from the film's iconic soundtrack. The musical debuted in Los Angeles in 2015. In 2017, the production was re-created off-Broadway at (le) Poisson Rouge in Manhattan. The production will go on tour in 2019.

The album will feature the off-Broadway cast, which included Lauren Zakrin (Rock of Ages) as Kathryn, Constantine Rousouli (Wicked) as Sebastian, Carrie St. Louis (Wicked) as Annette, Jessie Shelton (Hadestown) as Cecile, Alex Boniello (Spring Awakening) as Blaine, Brian Muller (The Good Wife) as Greg, Matthew Griffin (The New Yorkers at Encores!) as Ronald, and Patricia Richardson (Home Improvement) as Mrs. Bunny Caldwell.
