Leslie Kritzer to Fill in for Injured Christine Pedi in Newsical Beginning March 25

Two-time Drama Desk nominee Leslie Kritzer will join the Off-Broadway cast of Newsical: Full Spin Ahead, at The Kirk at Theatre Row, March 25-April 23. Kritzer is filling in for star Christine Pedi, who has injured her ankle. Prior to Kritzer’s first performance, understudy Amy Griffin will be covering for Pedi, who is scheduled to return to the show on April 24.

In addition, Rick Crom’s topical musical comedy has announced additions to its songs and sketches, which will now include pieces about Charlie Sheen’s accelerated meltdown; Christina Aguilera’s gradual meltdown; and the entire world’s collective meltdown due to Royal Wedding Fever.

Mark Waldrop has directed the production, which also features Christina Bianco, Michael West, John Walton West, and Tommy Walker.

The creative team includes Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), Josh Starr (lighting designer), and David Kaley (costume designer).

Kritzer’s many stage credits include Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde, The Memory Show, POP! , Rooms A Rock Romance, On The Town, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, and Bat Boy. She is also scheduled to play Joe’s Pub on May 1 and 2.
