Casting Set for Red Bull and Fiasco’s Knight of the Burning Pestle

The Elizabethan comedy receives a rare revival at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Red Bull Theater and Fiasco Theater will present a rare revival of Francis Beaumont’s The Knight of the Burning Pestle, running April 17-May 13 at the Lucille Lortel Theater.

The production will be directed by Fiasco company members Noah Brody and Emily Young, with a cast that includes Fiasco’s Jessie Austrian, Ben Steinfeld, Paul L. Coffey, Tina Chilip, Deven E. Haqq, and Paco Tolson, as well as Royer Bockus, Teresa Avia Lim Darius Pierce, adn Tatiana Wechsler.

On the creative team are Christopher Swader and Justin Swader (sets), Yvonne Miranda (costumes), and Reza Behjat (lighting).

Beaumont’s 1607 comedy is one of the earliest parodies of the English language and follows a group of theater actors whose play about star-crossed lovers is interrupted by a grocer and his wife who want to create a heroic acting vehicle for their apprentice.
