Williams will star alongside MLB player José “Candelita” Iglesias.

New York Yankees legend Bernie Williams is the next MLB player to join the cast of Buena Vista Social Club.
Williams will be part of the Tony-honored Buena Vista band for performances October 22-November 29. He joins former Mets player José “Candelita” Iglesias, who is in the cast of the show through November 15.
Williams, a native of Puerto Rico, is a five-time MLB All-Star, four-time World Series champion, and accomplished guitarist and composer whose career has bridged the worlds of professional sports and music. He spent his entire 16-year Major League Baseball career with the Yankees, earning four Gold Glove Awards, the 1998 American League batting title, and 1996 American League Championship Series MVP honors; his No. 51 was retired by the Yankees in 2015.
Also a classically trained guitarist, Williams has released two albums, The Journey Within and Latin Grammy–nominated Moving Forward, collaborating with artists including Bruce Springsteen, Jon Secada, and Dave Koz, and in January 2026 performed at Carnegie Hall.
