World Premiere of Extraordinary Extremities Comes to Soho Playhouse

Soho Playhouse presents the world premiere of Concrete Temple Theatre's Extraordinary Extremities, written and directed by Renee Philippi (The Whale). The production will begin performances April 4 in advance of an official April 13 opening.

Designed and performed by Carlo Adinolfi (Bird Machine), Extraordinary Extremities was inspired by the NPR story of Hugh Herr, a biomedical engineer who began designing technologically advanced artificial limbs after a climbing accident left him a double leg amputee.

Adinolfi is joined onstage by cellist Jeanette Stenson as he portrays the puppeteer Geppetto, who has recently lost his wife and performing partner and must now perform their signature piece solo for the first time. The piece is based on the grand love story of Perseus, who slays a sea monster to save his beloved Andromeda. As things spin out of control, he finds himself forced to create new scripts, ideas, and even limbs. The production features an original score by Lewis Flinn.
