Last month, Broadway Records released the cast recording of the Lincoln Center Theater revival of My Fair Lady. Recently, Lincoln Center Theater released footage from one of the recording sessions, featuring Lauren Ambrose, Harry Hadden-Paton, and Allan Corduner singing "The Rain in Spain." Directed by Bartlett Sher, the Broadway production stars Ambrose (Eliza Doolittle), Hadden-Paton (Henry Higgins), Norbert Leo Butz (Alfred P. Doolittle), and Diana Rigg (Mrs. Higgins). Corduner plays Colonel Pickering, Jordan Donica plays Freddy Eynsford-Hill, and Linda Mugleston plays Mrs. Pearce.
Adapted from George Bernard Shaw's play and Gabriel Pascal's motion picture Pygmalion, My Fair Lady, with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, premiered on Broadway on March 15, 1956. The new revival features choreography by Christopher Gattelli, with sets by Michael Yeargan, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Donald Holder, and sound by Marc Salzberg.
