Tony winners Brian Stokes Mitchell, Billy Porter, and director George C. Wolfe also chat about the landmark revival.
This week, CBS' Sunday Morning
went behind the scenes with Tony-winning director George C. Wolfe and his star-studded cast of Shuffle Along
to give audiences a sneak peek at the process of reviving a lost classic. The 1921 African-American musical revue was one of the greatest Broadway hits of the day, and yet, was forgotten as the decades passed. If you missed yesterday's program, take a look at the recap videos below, featuring interviews with Wolfe who is building a brand-new script to honor the show's legacy. Tony-winning performers Brian Stokes Mitchell, Audra McDonald, and Billy Porter also chat about dusting off their tap shoes beside the great Savion Glover.
Shuffle Along begins performances at the Music Box Theatre March 15, 2016 in advance of an April 28 opening.
