Playwright Warren Leight will become the executive producer and showrunner of NBC’s hit series, Law & Order: SVU, according to a report in Variety. He replaces Neal Baer, who will depart at the end of the show’s current season.
Leight worked on Law & Order: Criminal Intent for six years beginning in 2002, and served as the show’s executive producer for his last two years on the series. His other television credits include the FX series Lights Out and HBO’s In Treatment.
His work for the stage includes the Side Man, Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine, and No Foreigners Beyond This Point.
