The documentary One Night Stand will premiere at the NewFest Film Festival in New York with a screening to be offered on Sunday, July 24 at 8:15pm at the School for the Visual Arts. Elisabeth Sperling and Trish Dalton have directed the film, and will participate in a Q&A after the premiere.
The movie is a look behind the scenes at The Exchange’s 24 Hour Musicals project, in which some of New York’s top theater, film, and television actors, writers and directors are given 24 hours to write, cast, rehearse and perform four short musicals.
Among the participants in the project were performers Cheyenne Jackson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Mandy Gonzales, Nellie McKay, Tracie Thoms, Alicia Witt, Richard Kind, Rachel Dratch, Roger Bart, Tamara Tunie, Scarlet Strallen, Theresa McCarthy, Capathia Jenkins, and Marnie Schulenburg.
In addition, playwrights Gina Gionfriddo, Jonathan Marc Sherman, Rinne Groff, and Brian Crawley, composers Lance Horne, Robin Goldwasser and Julia Greenberg, Pasek and Paul, and Gabe Kahane, and directors Ted Sperling, Trip Cullman, Maria Mileaf, Sam Gold are all involved in the creating the show.
