The Tony-Award winning comedy begins tonight.
Vonya and Sonia and Masha and Spike starts performances this evening at the MTC MainStage.
Fusing elements of Chekhov with modern technology, the farce begins with Vanya and Sonia, two middle-aged and angst-ridden siblings. Their life together in Bucks County, Pennsylvania is turned upside-down by the arrival of their third sibling, Masha, and her hunky boy toy, Spike. As the three discuss life and love their old family arguments resurface.
Written by Christopher Durang, the show is directed by Pamela Hill and features Christopher DeRosa as Spike, Dynthia Hannah as Sonia, Carissa Massaro as Nina, Jim Schilling as Vanya, Katie Sparer as Cassandra, and Jodi Stevens as Masha.
The creative team includes Carl Tallent (set design), Joshua Scherr (lighting design), Diane Vanderkroef (costume design), and Sarah Pero (sound design).
Performances will run through March 13.
