Transport Group Theatre Company to Present The Music Man Concert for One Night Only

Transport Group Theatre Company will present The Music Man in concert on June 23 at the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre in The Pershing Square Signature Center. The event will be directed by Jack Cummings III and casting will be announced at a later date.

With book, music, and lyrics by Meredith Willson, The Music Man follows shyster businessman Harold Hill as he tries to dupe the citizens of River City, Iowa, with false promises of a boys' band. When the town's librarian catches Harold's eye, River City suddenly becomes harder to skip.

"I'm so thrilled to treat New York to this treasured show with Broadway's finest bringing it to life," said Artistic Director Jack Cummings III in a statement. The Music Man perfectly captures everything we love about The Golden Age of musicals."

Founded in 2001 under the leadership of Jack Cummings III, Transport Group is a not-for-profit that stages new works and reimagined revivals by American writers.
