Tom Hanks, the Tony Award-nominated star of Broadway’s Lucky Guy, received one of the theatrical community’s highest honors, a caricature for the walls of famed eatery Sardi’s, at an afternoon ceremony on May 23.

The actor, who appears in Nora Ephron’s biodrama at the Broadhurst Theatre through July 3, can now add this to a long list of career achievements that includes two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, five Emmys, and countless nominations, including 2013 Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Awards.

George C. Wolfe directs Lucky Guy, which tells the inspirational story of New York City tabloid journalist Mike McAlary, who, just months before his death from cancer, won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the Abner Louima police brutality case. The company also includes Maura Tierney, Christopher McDonald, Peter Gerety, Courtney B. Vance, Peter Scolari, Richard Masur, Brian Dykstra, Michael Gaston, Dustyn Gulledge, Andrew Hovelson, Deirdre Lovejoy, Danny Mastrogiorgio, Stephen Tyrone Williams, Paula Jon De Rose, Joe Forbrich, Thomas Michael Hammond, and Marc Damon Johnson.
