Broadway vet Todrick Hall (Kinky Boots) took his first bow as as Billy Flynn in Chicago last night, November 30, at the Ambassador Theatre. Hall will play a limited run through January 14, 2018.
Hall recently appeared as Lola in Kinky Boots. His other Broadway credits include The Color Purple and Memphis. An American Idol finalist, he has appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race, Gay for Play, and the Virgin America safety video, which he also wrote.
Chicago also currently stars Olivier Award winner Leigh Zimmerman as Velma Kelly and Tony Award nominee Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart. Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. Recipient of six 1997 Tony Awards, the revival is directed by Walter Bobbie.
