Casting has been announced for the off-Broadway world premiere of This Land Was Made, beginning performances at the Vineyard Theatre May 18 ahead of a June 4 opening.

The Land Was Made is written by Tori Sampson and directed by Taylor Reynolds. The play is set in Oakland in 1967, a powder keg of social activism ready to boil over into radical action. For the patrons of Miss Trish’s bar, it’s all just talking points — until the explosive and seductive force of the revolution walks through the door.

The cast will feature Antoinette Crowe-Legacy as Sassy, Leland Fowler as Drew, Matthew Griffin as Troy, Sean Patrick Higgins as Officer Heanes, Yasha Jackson as Gail, Ezra Knight as Mr. Far, Julian Elijah Martinez as Huey, Curt Morlaye as Gene, and Oliver Palmer as Officer Frey. Additional casting will be announced soon.

The production’s creative team includes scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Dominique Fawn Hill, lighting design by Adam Honoré, sound design by Fan Zhang, and movement direction by Adesola Osakalumi.
