TheaterMania treated Arkansas residents Ken and Helen Hughes to a night out on the town as the winners of a recent contest with an enviable prize: tickets to the hit Broadway musical Nice Work If You Can Get It at the Imperial Theatre and dinner after the show with the Tony Award-winning cast members Judy Kaye and Michael McGrath at B. Smith’s on Restaurant Row.
After attending the Thursday, October 25 performance of Nice Work, the couple headed over to the noted midtown eatery, where they dined on black eyed pea hummus, fried macaroni and cheese, and other mouth-watering treats. Kaye and McGrath were happy to sign autographs, pose for photos, and discuss the musical with the enthusiastic couple.
Restaurateur B. Smith herself was also on hand to greet the eager contest winners, along with her husband, Dan Gasby.
“The major highlight of our trip was the time at Nice Work with Judy, Michael, and B. Smith,” Ken and Helen told TheaterMania via email. “There is no way we can thank TheaterMania and their staff in a manner matching our pleasure.”
