Joe Calarco directs the debut production.
The world premiere of Audrey Cefaly's The Gulf, starring Maria Rizzo and Rachel Zampelli, is now in performances at Signature Theatre, where the show will run through November 6.
Directed by Signature’s director of new works, Joe Calarco, the play follows Betty and Kendra, who waste away a languid summer day fishing on the Alabama Delta. Suddenly, their lazy afternoon turns to chaos when the motor breaks, stranding them and their tumultuous relationship in the Gulf.
