The Golem of Havana to Make Its World Premiere at Barrington Stage Company

The Golem of Havana, a new musical by Salomon Lerner, Len Schiff, and Michel Hausmann, will make its world premiere this summer at Barrington Stage Company, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Directed by Hausman, performances will run from July 16-August 10 on the St. Germain Stage at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center. The official opening will take place on July 23.

The Golem of Havana tells the story of a Hungarian-Jewish family living in Batista's Havana on the brink of the Cuban Revolution. When their maid's son, a guerrilla fighter, is injured, they must choose between protecting him and guarding their fragile prosperity since immigrating to Cuba after World War II.

The company features Jacqueline Antaramian (Yutka Frankel), Julie Benko (Rebecca), Danny Bolero (Arturo Perez), Rheaume Crenshaw (Maria Rondon), Felipe Gorostiza (Batista), Gabriel Elizabeth Kadian (Olga), Ronald Alexander Peet (Teo Rondon), Ari Stachel (Sanchez), Gordon Stanley (Pinchas Frankel), along with Matt Gregory, Ross Yoder, Brian Sandstrom, and Jordana McMahon.

The creative team includes Edwin Erminy (scenic design), Arnulfo Maldonado (costume design), Mary Louise Geiger (lighting design), Patrick Calhoun (sound design), Ryan Winkles (fight choreographer), Jason Yarcho (music direction), and Marcos Santana (choreography).
