After two years of weekend performances off-Broadway at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, producer Matt Murphy announced that The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical has recouped its initial investment.
Adapted from the classic children’s book series by Stan and Jan Berenstain, the musical performance follows Brother, Sister, Mama, and Papa Bear through their adventures in Bear Country. Murphy joined the cast onstage following the production’s official second-anniversary performance, thanking the cast and creative team for their work.
“I am thrilled that the greater New York area has embraced our show and allowed us to continue on a weekend schedule that caters to families,” Murphy said. “As long as New Yorkers will have us, we will keep bringing the vibrant and colorful world of Bear Country that Stan and Jan Berenstain created more than 50 years ago to life through song and dance off-Broadway.”
