Four of the stars of the Broadway musical Tarzan will perform songs from the score on Tuesday, June 27 from noon to 1pm at the Apple Store in SoHo (103 Prince Street, 2nd floor). That same day, the show’s original cast recording will be released nationwide by Walt Disney Records.
Josh Strickland (Tarzan), Jenn Gambatese (Jane), Merle Dandridge (Kala), and Chester Gregory II (Terk) will be on hand to sing “You’ll Be in My Heart,” “For the First Time,” and “Who Better than Me.” After the performance, they will participate in a Q&A session with the audience.
Based on the novel Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the show has music and lyrics by Phil Collins and a book by David Henry Hwang, adapted from the Tab Murphy-Bob Tzudiker-Noni White screenplay for Disney’s animated film Tarzan. Presented by Disney Theatrical Productions, the musical opened on May 10, 2006 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
