An elderly man collapsed during the second act of Berkeley Repertory Theater‘s production of Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land, starring Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, but refused to go to the hospital until the performance was over, the New York Post reports.
Thirty minutes remained in the Broadway-bound revival — directed by Sean Mathias and costarring Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley — when the man fell ill. Emergency workers helped the patron into the theater’s lobby, but the man refused to leave. Despite being offered tickets to another performance, the patron insisted on watching the rest of the show via a video monitor. He even signed a treatment waiver so that he wouldn’t have to miss the conclusion. He eventually agreed to go to a hospital once the curtain came down.
It just goes to show you — even old people are super-excited to see Professor X and Magneto live and in person.
