Showtime has ordered 12 episodes of the new drama series, Homeland, featuring stage stars Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, and Mandy Patinkin, according to published reports.
The plot focuses on Marine Sergeant Scott Brody (Lewis), who returns home after spending eight years as a prisoner of war in Baghdad, and Carrie Anderson (Danes), a driven CIA officer who suspects he might be plotting an attack on America.
The cable network has also given a 12-episode order to the series House of Lies, starring stage veteran Don Cheadle.
