The Public Theater has announced its slate of free productions at the Delacorte Theatre.
Public Theater has revealed the lineup for its 2018 free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte Theater.
First up is Shakespeare's Othello, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Running May 29-June 24, the production marks the first free Shakespeare in the Park production of the drama since 1991.
Next up is a full five-week run of Shaina Taub and Kwame Kwei-Armah's musical adaptation of Twelfth Night, codirected by Kwei-Armah and Oskar Eustis. First presented in 2016 as part of the special Public Works series, the new mounting will reunite original cast members Nikki M. James (Viola), Andrew Kober (Malvolio), Jacob Ming-Trent (Sir Toby Belch), and Shaina Taub (Feste), who will perform alongside two rotating ensembles of community members from the five boroughs. The run is set for July 17-August 19.
