Lee Hall’s adaptation of the Oscar-winning film will take the stage.
Seattle Shakespeare Company has announced its 2017-18 season of plays, including the new stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning film Shakespeare in Love.
George Mount will direct Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, September 13-October 1. That will be followed by Gogol's The Government Inspector, running October 24-November 19 under the direction of Allison Narver. John Kazanjian's production of Timon of Athens runs January 9-February 4, with The Merchant of Venice, directed by Desdemona Chiang, running March 20-April 15.
Lee Hall's adaptation of Shakespeare in Love, based on Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard's screnplay, will run May 2-June 3 under the direction of George Mount.
The company will also present outdoor productions of Much Ado About Nothing and Pericles during the summer of 2017. Much Ado, directed by Jon Kretzu, runs July 6-August 6, and Pericles, directed by Annie Lareau, runs the same time.
A touring double bill of Twelfth Night and Romeo and Juliet will be presented March-May 2018, with Erin Murray directing.
