Lindsey Ferrentino’s new play will open the Roundabout Underground season.
First production photos have been released of Mamie Gummer and her costars in Roundabout Theatre Company's Ugly Lies the Bone by Lindsey Ferrentino. The world premiere, currently in previews, is directed by Patricia McGregor. The show has an opening night set for October 13 at Roundabout Underground's Black Box Theatre, and is scheduled to run through November 22.
Ugly Lies the Bone tells the story of Jess, a newly discharged soldier who returns to her Florida hometown and begins to use a virtual-reality video game to help combat the physical and emotional scars of her three tours in Afghanistan. The play is the first-ever recipient of a Special Citation of Excellence from the Laurents/Hatcher Foundation.
In addition to Gummer (Jess); the cast features Karron Graves (Kacie); Caitlin O'Connell (Voice, Their Mom); Chris Stack (Stevie); and Haynes Thigpen (Kelvin).
