Second Stage Theater has announced three new productions to its 2018-19 season in addition to the previously announced productions of Young Jean Lee's Straight White Men and the Broadway transfer of last year's revival of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song.

Two of the new productions will be world premieres. One is Days of Rage, a new play by Tony Award winner Steven Levenson (Dear Evan Hansen), directed by Trip Cullman (Lobby Hero), which will begin previews on October 2 at the Tony Kiser Theater before opening later that month. The other is Superhero, a new musical with book by John Logan (Red) and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), which will begin previews on January 31 ahead of an opening in late February. Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!), Bryce Pinkham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), and Kyle McArthur will star, with Jason Moore (Shrek the Musical) directing.

Its third new production will be of Christopher Shinn's Dying City, an older play that was previously performed in New York in 2007 at Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, and which was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2008. Lila Neugebauer will direct this new production, which begins previews in late July ahead of an opening in mid-August.

A fourth production will be announced later.
