Will & Grace favorite Sean Hayes makes his return to Broadway tonight in a new engagement of David Javerbaum's comedy An Act of God, which is set to run at the Booth Theatre through September 4.

Hayes, who recently led a production of An Act of God in San Francisco, made his Broadway debut opposite Kristin Chenoweth in Promises, Promises. He earned a Tony nomination for his leading performance in the musical and hosted the Tony Awards ceremony that same year.

Directed by Joe Mantello, An Act of God is inspired by the best-selling book The Last Testament: A Memoir by God as well as by author and playwright Javerbaum's Twitter feed, The Tweet of God. The play follows the Almighty and His angels as they answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued mankind since creation. It premiered on Broadway in 2015 with Emmy winner Jim Parsons taking on the title role.

An Act of God features scenic design by Tony Award winner Scott Pask, costume design by Tony Award nominee David Zinn, lighting design by Tony Award winner Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Drama Desk Award winner Fitz Patton, and projection design by Drama Desk Award winner Peter Nigrini.
