Apollinaire Theatre Company will present a bilingual production of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, running July 11-28 in Mary O’Malley Park.
Danielle Fauteux Jacques directs the comedy, which will be performed on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in English and Fridays and Sundays in Spanish. The work explores the story of Hamlet from the perspective of minor characters Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
Ronald Lacey and Sean A. Cote will play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern when the work is performed in English, with Sarah Bedard as the Player. Keith Michael Pinault and Juan C. Rodriguez will perform Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in Spanish, with Paola M. Ferrer as the Player. The rest of the cast includes Mike Handelman (Alfred), Heather Bonin, Tim Fairley, Laura Hubbard, Kelly Malone (Players), Christie Lee Gibson (Hamlet/Gertrude), Mari Davila (Gertrude/Hamlet), Maria Jose Velasquez (Ophelia), Tony Dangerfield (Claudius), Victor Hugo Arellano (Polonius), and Kelly Kulesz (ensemble).
The design team includes Bryan Prywes (scenic design), Tom Acevedo (scenic artist), Julie Dauber (costume design), and Jessica Hutchings (costume intern).
