Kenneth Lonergan’s new play opens at Atlantic Theater Company.
Emmy nominee Timothy Olyphant (Justified) celebrated his opening night in Hold On to Me Darling, a new play from Oscar nominee Kenneth Lonergan, on March 14. The Atlantic Theater Company production is directed by Neil Pepe.
Olyphant plays Strings McCrane, a country-and-western star who begins questioning the meaning of his life upon learning of his mother's death. Determined to abandon his celebrity and career, he moves back to his hometown in Tennessee. It doesn't go well.
The company also includes Adelaide Clemens (The Great Gatsby), Tony nominee Jonathan Hogan (As Is), Jenn Lyon (Fish in the Dark), Keith Nobbs (The Legend of Georgia McBride), and C.J. Wilson (Bronx Bombers).
Hold On to Me Darling features scenic design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Suttirat Larlarb, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, and sound design by David Van Tieghem.
Guests at the opening-night festivities included Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rebecca Hall, Morgan Spector, and many others.
