The 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out on May 6 in 14 categories and 4 special honors at the NYU Skirball Center The event was hosted by Mario Cantone.
Once won three awards, including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Choreographer for Steven Hoggett, and Outstanding Lighting for Natasha Katz.
Sons of the Prophet was named Outstanding Play, and Santino Fontana was named Outstanding Lead Actor. An Iliad was named Outstanding Solo Show and Classic Stage Company’s The Cherry Orchard was named Outstanding Revival.
Other winners include actors Sanaa Lathan (By the Way, Meet Vera Stark); Adam Driver (Look Back in Anger; and Tonya Pinkins (Milk Like Sugar), and director Sam Gold (The Big Meal).
