Broadway vets Santino Fontana and Judy Kuhn will lead an extremely rare revival of the musical I Can Get It For You Wholesale as part of Classic Stage Company’s upcoming off-Broadway season.

The Harold Rome-Jerome Weidman musical will run in the fall of 2023, with book revisions by John Weidman (the original author’s son) and direction by Trip Cullman. Best known for launching the career of 19-year-old Barbra Streisand, I Can Get It For You Wholesale follows an unscrupulous shipping clerk in 1937 New York City who does whatever it takes to get to the top.

Winter 2024 will see a revival of Shakespeare’s Pericles, presented by Fiasco Theater and directed by the company’s Ben Steinfeld.

In spring 2024, Tony winner LaChanze will make her New York directorial debut with Alice Childress’s Wine in the Wilderness, a drama about an artist painting a triptych on Black womanhood, and the model who gives him more than he bargained for. LaChanze starred on Broadway in Childress’s Trouble in Mind in 2021.

Complete details about each production will be announced in the coming months.
