Rupert Goold will direct Headlong Theatre’s Decade, to run September 1 – October 15 at St. Katharine Docks in London, according to a report on the website for the U.K. magazine The Stage. The show, co-conceived by Goold with Robert Icke, will feature choreography by Scott Ambler.
The site-specific piece will be an exploration of the legacy of 9/11 a decade after the terrorist attacks. Casting will be announced in the near future.
The creative team will include production designer Miriam Buether and Adam Cork, who will provide the sound score.
Goold’s production of The Merchant of Venice recently opened at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon. In addition, he is scheduled to direct the world premiere of David Mamet’s The Anarchist this fall. Among his other directing credits are his Olivier Award-winning production of Macbeth, along with Enron, Paradise Lost, and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. He is the artistic director of Headlong and an associate at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
