The actress tweeted that her first performance has been delayed by a week.
Actress Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, has once again delayed her upcoming Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago. Originally scheduled to appear in the production at the Ambassador Theatre from August 18-October 11, her engagement was previously pushed back to September 14-November 1 due to a foot injury. Now, according to a tweet, Willis' run has been postponed another week.
Last night, when Willis was previously scheduled to make her Broadway debut, the former Dancing With the Stars winner appears to have attended that show's season premiere. She shared photos from the event on social media, supporting her partner Val Chmerkovskiy and his new mentee, Tamar Braxton.
Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines.
The company currently includes Dylis Croman as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ryan Silverman as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
