”Mozart in the Jungle” stars Debra Monk and Mark Blum will join Jamie Brewer in the world premiere of Lindsey Ferrentino’s new play.
Roundabout Theatre Company announced the full cast for Amy and the Orphans, running February 1-April 22, 2018, at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre, with opening night set for March 1.
Vanessa Aspillaga, Mark Blum, Diane Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Debra Monk will join the previously announced Jamie Brewer in the world premiere production of Lindsey Ferrentino's new play, directed by Scott Ellis.
Brewer will take on the role of Amy, a woman with Down syndrome who helps her family deal with their father's death. As they drive down the Long Island Expressway, an unexpected turn reveals the moment that changed their lives. Brewer, best known for her performances as Addie on American Horror Story: Murder House and Nan in American Horror Story: Coven, worked with Ellis and Ferrentino on readings of the play dating back to 2015. She is also the first woman with Down syndrome to walk at New York Fashion Week.
The creative team will include Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Alejo Vietti (costume design), Kenneth Posner (lighting design), and John Gromada (sound and original compositions).
