Trip Cullman directs the new Atlantic Theater Company production.
Halley Feiffer's dark comedy I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard celebrated its Atlantic Theater Company opening night on January 20. The production, directed by Trip Cullman, began performances January 7.
The play stars Betty Gilpin as Ella, an actress whose sole purpose is to make her playwright father, David, played by Reed Birney, proud. As a drug- and alcohol-fueled evening wears on, the pair deliberates over whether to read the reviews of her off-Broadway debut.
I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard runs through February 15 at Atlantic Stage Two. Feiffer is also the playwright behind How to Make Friends and Then Kill Them and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City.
