Broadway cast members were in attendance at the special sing-along screening of the movie version of Mamma Mia! at the Ziegfeld Theater on Tuesday, September 20.
Prior to the start of the movie, stars Lisa Brescia (Donna Sheridan) and Patrick Boll (Bill Austin) drew a raffle awarding two lucky fans with promotional posters, and one lucky fan with tickets to the October 18 performance of Mamma Mia on Broadway, which will celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary.
The musical, playing at the Winter Garden Theatre, uses the songs of ABBA. It follows the story of a forty-something mother planning her daughter’s wedding — unaware that the girl has invited three men who might be her father. The show has music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, is written by Catherine Johnson, and directed by Phyllida Lloyd.
In addition to Brescia and Boll, the company also stars Liana Hunt (Sophie Sheridan), Judy McLane (Tanya), Jennifer Perry (Rosie), John Hemphill (Sam Carmichael), David Beach (Harry Bright), Jordan Dean (Sky), and Jacob Pinion (Pepper).
