PHOTO FLASH: Jim Parsons, Ron Rifkin, Sherie Rene Scott, Aaron Tveit at Dogfight Opening

On Monday, July 16, Second Stage Theatre‘s world premiere musical Dogfight opened with Joe Mantello at the helm.

Opening night guests included Bobby Cannavale, Kurt Deutsch, Amanda Greeen, Tom Kitt, Jim Parsons, Tonya Pinkins, Ron Rifkin, Sherie Rene Scott, Jason Tam, Aaron Tveit, and George C. Wolfe.

Based on the movie of the same name with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Peter Duchan, the show centers on a group of three young Marines on the eve of their deployment in in 1963. The cast features Annaleigh Ashford, Becca Ayers, Nick Blaemire, Steven Booth, Dierdre Friel, Adam Halpin, F. Michael Haynie, Derek Klena, Lindsay Mendez, James Moye, and Josh Segarra.
