PHOTO FLASH: Broadway’s Spider-Man Welcomes Sailors to New York for Fleet Week

The costumed title character of the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark boarded the USS Wasp on Wednesday, May 23 to welcome sailors to New York City for Fleet Week.

The appearance on the USS Wasp included a tour of the ship by the Admiral, and promoted the musical’s new “Spider-Man Hero Seats,” featuring specially priced tickets for all branches of the Armed Services (active, reservists, retired, and veteran), police officers, EMS and firefighters.

Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, which performs at the Foxwoods Theatre, features music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley, original direction by Julie Taymor, and a book co-written by Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
