Tim Blake Nelson hosted Soho Rep’s 35th anniversary gala, held at Angel Orensanz on April 30. The event honored Julie Menin. Presenters included Blythe Danner, Sally Field, Seth Gilliam, and Jomama Jones.
The gala featured performances from Mac Wellman’s Dracula, Melissa James Gibson’s [sic], and Debbie Tucker Green’s born bad. Also performing were Cynthia Hopkins, and Young Jean Lee with her band Future Wife.
In addition to Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson, attendees included David Adjmi, Daniel Aukin, Annie Baker, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Reed Birney, Steve Boyer, Zoe Caldwell, Crystal Dickinson, Maria Dizzia, Peter Friedman, Dominic Fumusa, Rebecca Gilman, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Lisa Joyce, Anne Kauffman, Christina Kirk, Matthew Maher, Alfredo Narciso, Sylvan Oswald, Mark Ravenhill, Michael Rogers, Ken Rus Schmoll, Sherie Rene Scott, Michael Shannon, Heather Simms, Pete Simpson, and Jeff Sugg.
Proceeds from the gala will support the company’s artistic programs.
