Monty Python’s Spamalot co-creators Eric Idle and John Du Prez were among the guests on Tuesday, February 28 as the 2005 Tony Award-winning Best Musical returned to Los Angeles, with an engagement at the Pantages Theatre, which runs through March 4.
Among the celebrity guests in attendance were Beverly D’ Angelo, Patrick Gallagher, Sam Harris, Kate Linder, Dawnn Lewis, Jane Lynch, Christopher McDonald, Alicia Minshew, Vic Sahay, Richard Schiff, Josh Sussman, Iqbal Theba, Lea Thompson, and Devon Werkheiser.
Directed by Mike Nichols, Spamalot is lovingly “ripped-off” from the internationally famous comedy team’s most popular motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail, and features a chorus line of dancing divas and knights, flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits and one legless knight.
