Columbia Pictures has released the first photo of stage veteran Andrew Garfield, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man, in the complete superhero costume, including the mask.
The company has also announced that the film, which, as previously reported, is being directed by Marc Webb, will be officially entitled The Amazing Spider-Man and will be released on July 3, 2012.
The cast also includes Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field.
Garfield’s stage credits include Beautiful Thing and The Overwhelming. His additional film credits include The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and The Social Network.
