Cherry Lane Theatre's production of Scott Organ’s Phoenix, starring Julia Stiles and James Wirt, has been extended for four additional performances from August 25-August 28. The play, which is directed by Jennifer DeLia, was originally scheduled to close on August 23.

Phoenix, which premiered at the 34th Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville, follows Bruce (James Wirt) and Sue (Julia Stiles), who meet again four weeks after an uncharacteristic one-night stand. The two are forced to consider a new world of possibility as Bruce is fueled by a compulsion to join Sue in Phoenix, while she is reluctantly charmed by his persistence.

The creative team will features Caite Hevner Kemp (scenic design), Amit Gajwani (costume design), Oona Curley (lighting design), Janie Bullard (sound design), and Burton Machen (scenic art).

"We feel incredibly proud of the amazing work from our cast, creative team, and everyone involved, and we could not be happier with how people are connecting with this show," said producer Rian Patrick Durham in a statement.
