Bloodsong of Love, a musical written by Joe Iconis, will be presented in concert at 54 Below in two performances: on Monday, October 20, at 7pm and 9:30pm.

The show will star Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Hairspray), Eric William Morris (Mamma Mia!), Jeremy Morse (Drama Desk nominee for Bloodsong of Love), Lance Rubin (Billy Witch), Phillipa Soo (Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812), and Jason SweetTooth Williams (The Disappearing Man). John Simpkins will direct.

Bloodsong of Love premiered in a four-week workshop production at Ars Nova in 2010, earning three Drama Desk Awards. A musical interpretation of a spaghetti Western film with a rock-and-roll score, the show is described as "Stephen Sondheim meets Quentin Tarantino" and "a raging battle cry for those who believe in art and love and the sticking together."

Iconis' other works include The Black Suits, The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks, and We the People, as well as the theatrical concert Things to Ruin. His songs were featured on Season 2 of NBC’s Smash.
