
The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center has announced the pieces that will be developed during the 20th Anniversary Season of its National Puppetry Conference, which will take place June 9-20 under the leadership of artistic director Pam Arciero.
Three ensemble productions will be developed during the Conference, including 20 Year Remix: a Retrospective, which will be directed by Richard Termine and have technical direction by Bart Roccoberton and feature Mariane Kubick, Tyler Bunch, Lenny Pinna, and Roger Danforth.
In addition Tim Lagasse will direct A Puppet Film, featuring Martin P. Robinson and Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, and Philip Huber and Jim Rose will direct Marionettes, with Fred Thompson.
The conference’s work for emerging artists will be led by Robert Smythe with Jean Marie Keevins and Alice Bohn, assisted by the Flock Theater of New London, and Scott Hitz will be the Artist in Residence for the conference, as he continues work on the development of The Little Prince.
The Puppetry Conference will culminate in public performances June 18-19, which will draw on the work of guest artists as well as puppet theater pieces developed during the Conference itself.
