Academy Award winner Jennifer Jones died today at her home in Malibu, according to published reports. She was 90 years old.
Born March 2, 1919 as Phyllis Lee Isley, she changed her name to Jennifer Jones in 1942 at the behest of movie mogul, David O. Selznick, who eventually became her second husband.
Jones won her Oscar for The Song of Bernadette, and received additional Oscar nominations for Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing, Duel in the Sun, Love Letters, and Since You Went Away. She appeared on Broadway in the 1954 production of Portrait of a Lady.
She is survived by her son, Robert Walker, from her first marriage.
