Once, Death of a Salesman, Venus in Fur Win Artios Awards

The Broadway productions of Death of a Salesman, Venus in Fur, and Once were among the winners at the Casting Society of America’s 28th Annual Artios Awards, which were held on Monday, October 29 in Los Angeles.

Awards were presented for film, television, and theater. A New York ceremony was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.

Mele Nagler received the award for the recent revival of Arthur Miller’s Salesman; Nancy Piccione and James Calleri won for Venus, and Jim Carnahan won for Once.

Additional winners on the theatrical side included Calleri for The Cherry Orchard and A Doll’s House; Pat McCorkle for Tribes; Jay Binder for Merrily We Roll Along; Rachel Hoffman for Hands on a Hardbody; and Jeff Greenberg for Art.

Additional winners included Harvey Fierstein, who received the New York Apple Award for contributions to the New York casting community, and Ben Affleck, who was honored with the Career Achievement Award.
