Omid Djalili will star as Dr. Rance in Joe Orton’s What the Butler Saw, to run May 5 – August 25 at the West End’s Vaudeville Theatre. Sean Foley will direct the production.
The dark comedy centers on mayhem at a clinic where after a doctor instructs his new secretary to undress, he’s interrupted by his wife, her blackmailing lover, a meddling government inspector and an inquisitive policeman.
Djalili’s many film credits include The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, Modigliani and At World’s End, among others. In addition, he is a stand-up comedian, who recently completed a U.K. tour with an engagement at London’s Hammerstein Apollo.
