Terrence McNally's Tony-nominated play Mothers and Sons begins performances tonight at SpeakEasy Stage Company.

SpeakEasy Stage Company's production of Mothers and Sons starts performances tonight. The play centers on Katharine Gerard, a Dallas matriarch, who goes on an unexpected journey to New York to meet her late son’s former partner. As Katharine is introduced to this man’s new partner and the young son they are raising she is presented with the life her son might have lived. In light of these revelations, she must come to terms with her own life choices and the evolving world around her as it starts to reevaluate what it means to be a family.

Directed by Paul Daigneault and written by Terrence McNally, the show features Nancy E. Carroll as Katherine Gerard, Michael Kaye as Cal Porter, Nile Hawver as Will Ogden, and Liam Lurker as Bud Ogden-Porter.

The creative team includes Erik D. Diaz (set design), Charles Schoonmaker (costume design), Jeff Adelberg (light design), David Remedios (sound design), and Dawn Schall Saglio (stage manager).

Performances will run through June 6.
